Bloom WNC is a flower farm in Western North Carolina that grows and designs specialty flowers in the Swannanoa Valley.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I was raised on a mini farm that supplied produce and flowers to my family’s French restaurant. This was long before the farm-to-table movement was trendy!
I fondly remember helping my mother in the garden and relishing the days we got to go cut flowers for bouquets. While I miss the volcanic rich soil of the Pacific Northwest, I am delighted to grow flowers here in North Carolina with the gentle seasons and predictable rains.
I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to grow lovely flowers for my beloved customers, and to live so much of my life outdoors. My life is spent in the dirt and the weather, and I labor with my hands to bring forth a beautiful product, all while being gentle with the land.
I grow specialty cut flowers for my shareholders and workshops, to design with for weddings and special events, and to sell to local talented florists. Bloom WNC is a proud member of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Program, and Western North Carolina Flower Farmers.
SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
Bloom WNC is a pesticide free and a no-till farm and makes concerted efforts to sustainably grow this way! While pollinators are on the decline, I revel at the large numbers of pollinators that are attracted to my flower farm. It is so rewarding to see butterflies and bees happily feasting on the bounty.
I use succession farming methods, producing a lot of flowers on a small plot of land. This requires a good amount of soil amendment and I do this with regular composting, and the addition of seaweed and fish emulsion.
No-till farming is a method that allows me to preserve the precious topsoil from the harmful effects of erosion, and leaves soil micro organisms, that are essential to the biology, in the ground. Andrew Meffered, author of the No Till Revolution, has been an excellent resource for Bloom as we navigate no-till agriculture. Another one of my favorite no-till flower farmers, Bare Mountain Farm, has excellent You Tube Videos on maximizing production while sticking to a no-till and sustainable form of flower farming.

Flower Shares - During late winter, spring, summer, and fall we offer Flower Shares. Being a Flower Shareholder is the best way to guarantee that you receive the first and best cuts of flowers throughout the seasons. Farm Shareholders pay for the entire season up front and get paper wrapped flower deliveries right to their door. Shareholders also receive 20% off workshops and are offered products ahead of the general public. Shares are great gifts!
Cutting Garden Shares - Want to have your own cutting garden this year but don’t want to go to the trouble of buying seeds and getting them to germinate? Look no further… You can purchase Cutting Garden Shares from Bloom and receive a 50 cell tray loaded with starts of the easiest-to-grow and most productive cutting flowers for your home garden!
Container Shares & Plant Shares - Do you have containers at home that you want filled to the brim with colorful flowers, and greenery? Purchase this service and we will come to your home and plant your containers, as well as keep them maintained and refreshed throughout the season. If you do not have containers Bloom can help with that too! Also, if you want indoor plants for your business of home in fun pots, we can do that as well. WEDDINGS
Bloom WNC designs florals for weddings. Our Full Service option includes the formal, ceremony, and reception flowers as well as the set-up and take down. When booked in advance, Bloom can grow specific flowers for you, as long as the season and climate permits. A limited number of Full Service wedding clients are booked each year so please make arrangements early!
We specializes in Elopement and À la Carte wedding florals. Basically, if we can design it and it can be picked up from the farm, you can order it! This includes all formal wedding flowers - bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, flower crowns, corsages and the like. It can also include reception flowers - garlands, table centerpieces, and bigger vase or urn arrangements. This is a more affordable way to get our farm grown specialty arrangements without the full service cost.
For the DIY bride our bulk buckets of our farm fresh flowers are the perfect choice. There are two options: Farmers Choice bulk buckets where we choose a colorful mix of cut flowers and greens or Color Scheme bulk buckets where you choose the color scheme and we cut flowers specifically in that color range. The color schemes are: blush/white, green/white, bright/pastel, vivid/summer, jewel tones or warm/autumn tones.

WORKSHOPS & FARM TOURS
Before flower farming, I was a teacher, so I absolutely love teaching our Workshops! Getting to share my flowers, my farm, and my design skills to others is so fun. While we sometimes open up new Workshops throughout the year, these are our staples.
